After two years of classroom and on-the-job training, the latest cohort has graduated from the AIM Institute’s Plastics Processing Technician (PPT) Apprenticeship Program.

Designed to fill identified industry knowledge gaps, the PPT Apprenticeship Program includes over 340 hours of classroom and hands-on training with courses such as Plastic Materials, Mold Design, Quality Systems, Molding 1 and 2, among others. These courses, combined with 4,000 hours of on-the-job training, benefit graduates by giving them the knowledge and tools needed for career advancement, innovation, and successful leadership roles.
Eight people completed the PPT Apprenticeship Program this past February and are seeing how the program has improved their roles in the injection molding industry. One graduate, Cory Spaulding of Beaumont Advanced Processing, said, “The PPT Apprenticeship Program taught me a lot about the job I’ve been doing for the last three years. Before the program, I would just do what I was told without really knowing why. Now I have a deeper understanding of the process. The instructors explained the information well, making it easier to learn higher level content. I would suggest the PPT Apprenticeship Program to anyone that would like a good knowledge of plastic processing.”
We look forward to seeing our eight latest graduates excel! Congratulations!
