The American Injection Molding Institute now offers a variety of online plastics training courses.
The Plastics Bootcamp provides course attendees with the introductory, core information they need to understand the basics of each primary discipline of the plastic injection molding industry and what it takes to make a plastic part. It’s broken up into several modules, including: Plastic Materials, Mold Design, Injection Molding, Part Design, and Simulation Analysis.
A math course designed specifically for molders. Molders need to use math in their daily jobs, whether they are calculating shot size, transferring a process from one machine to another, or trying to determine clamp tonnage or material utilization.
Understanding plastic materials is critical to nearly every job function within the injection molding industry. This course is designed to improve the students’ understanding of polymer structures, the impact of molecular weight, rheology, and crystallinity on material properties. Attendees will also learn critical thought processes necessary to discern between the various root causes of shrink and warp.
Understanding the foundational knowledge of the five key systems and how each one affects the final part quality is imperative in the injection molding process. This course is designed to give students an in-depth look at the second discipline of the injection molding industry. Attendees will leave with a working knowledge of mold design and manufacturing. Through a mix of lecture and hands-on labs, attendees will break a mold down into its five systems and provide discussions on design strategies for each.
Injection Molding Processing
It’s vital that those working in a plastics environment have a well-rounded view of the core pillar of the plastics industry. Through the use of a research-backed approach to injection molding process development, attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of injection molding machines and common practices used to establish and troubleshoot a molding process.
Gain an understanding of the relationship between part design, mold complexity, and product cost. This course is structured to improve your ability to design for manufacturability and for performance over your product’s lifespan.
