New dates coming soon.

Renowned plastics expert “The Material Analyst” Mike Sepe will be teaching a special course on Plastic Material Selection and Testing.

This course focuses on the importance of defining a part’s application when selecting the appropriate plastic material, and dives into test methods designed to evaluate long-term part performance.

What Will I Learn?

This course treats the subject of plastic material selection from a systematic perspective.

The focus is placed on understanding the importance of defining the application environment as a prerequisite for selecting the optimal material, and then matching these requirements to the material’s property data. We will discuss the necessary level of completeness of the material data to ensure that it accounts for all of the mechanical and environmental influences that your product must withstand.

Materials are treated in terms of their structure and chemistry to illustrate the connection to functional performance.

Emphasis is placed on the relationship between structure and properties, and the use of material data that goes well beyond the traditional data sheet. The course will also discuss the role of fillers and other functional modifiers, including the importance of additives in establishing the correct property profile in a material.

This course will also examine test methods designed to evaluate long-term part performance.

How Long Is the Course?

The Material Selection Course is three days long.

Who Should Attend Plastic Material Selection & Testing?

This course is for anyone looking to improve their ability to evaluate material properties to select the optimal materials for their plastic parts.

How Much Is It?

The cost for the three-day seminar, including a PDF course companion guide, is $1,950.
